OUR LADY OF FATIMA

Our Lady of Fatima is a Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, based on the Marian apparitions reported in 1917 by three shepherd children at the Cova da Iria, in Fatima, Portugal.

To bring out the best in our students by identifying and embellishing their innate talents and moulding the future of our youth, with strong ethical values and sound educational teaching  and to make them responsible citizens.

To in-still in students that more and more greatness is achieved by doing ones duty from moment to moment and success is reward of ambition, hard work and concentration.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE

In keeping with the tradition of the Diocese of Belgaum, which runs this Institution and the needs of the time, the College aims at the integral formation of its students, helping them to become men and women in the service of others.

INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT

The development of your mind, the acquisition of information in different subjects of your study, processing this information and putting into a practical framework will be major part of your education here. Being an institution administered by a Catholic Dioceses, the college gives highest importance to spiritual formation and character building. A person is what his spiritual and moral values are and you will carry this aspect of your education with you throughout your life.

The time you spend in college is the period when you build your value systems based on honesty, justice, co-operation, fellowship, concern for others, faith and filial devotion to God and universal love that  embraces all people irrespective of caste, religion or nationality.

 CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULARACTIVITIES

CC &EC activities provide a platform for the broadening of one’s horizon, inculcation of values, learning to relate to and to deal with others, exercising participatory leadership etc. The college provides rich opportunities in the form of associations clubbed with dedicated staff for training and guiding you.

 

SOCIAL CONCERNS

The need of our times is not only to have humans with a vision but also humans with a mission. It is vitally important that we are aware of the forces of injustice and exploitation and respond to them adequately. For this, we need people with a genuine consciousness, who find meaning of life by learning and to be of service to others in today’s society.

 Students who are graduated from this institution imbibed with a sense of social concern, which are ready to stake their lives for the poor and the oppressed would have helped the college succeed in its mission and be proud of its endeavour.

 

ECO-FRIENDLY CAMPUS

The college has been making a conscious effort to maintain its campus green, clean and eco- friendly. Several steps have been initiated in this regard. For example Rain water harvesting, celebration of Environment day, planting of trees etc.

 

 STAFF- STUDENT RAPPORT THROUGH MENTORSHIP

Our lives are shaped very much by the people with whom we consistently interact with and here, it is done by our teachers. The college has an excellent faculty who are ready to mentor and guide the students on a daily basis.

We also have counselling services by our experienced faculties, who are available during the college hours for those in need of counselling related to studies and personal problems.

 

PARENT- TEACHER INTERFACE

The staff- student rapport will be more effective if parents cooperate and keep in touch with the members of the staff in the college. The college brings together students, parents and lecturers, every semester, for a parent- teacher interface and other programs organised by the college.

 

NAAC

UGC is making NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Certificate) mandatory for all the undergraduate colleges from 2022-23. Keeping this in view the college is getting ready to apply for NAAC. Seminars, workshops training for the staff as well as for the students are on.

Hopefully we may apply for NAAC Accreditation in the year 2023
