IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Ragging is a major offence. Students who indulge in ragging, even in a friendly manner or encouraging ragging will face immediate dismissal from the college. no justification in this regard will be acceptable
- Every single incident of ragging or abetting in ragging puts an obligation on the institution to get the FIR registered against the student offender who is involved in this act.
- Students in distress owing to ragging related incidents can access the toll free college helpline no.
IMPORTANT RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Classes will be held between 8:30am to 2:00 pm from Monday to Saturday.
- Every student is expected to stand/raise their hand/answer out loud the attendance while the name is being called out by the lecturer.
- Those who depend on public conveyance/ transport should leave their homes early enough to avoid peak hours and be late at the college.
- Students are expected to be inside the campus by 8:20am and be seated inside the classroom at 8:3am sharp. Each student be seated inside the classroom before the teacher arrives. If any student is late, they will not be permitted to enter the classroom but, they will have to be seated in the library till the next hour. Once the teacher enters the classroom, no student will be permitted to enter the classroom.
- ID cards are to be worn by the students at all times inside the campus, the classroom, office and library. It must be produced whenever required by the authority.
- No student is permitted to leave the classroom without the permission of the lecturer/class guide/ principal. All the students are expected to be in the classroom during the prescribed class timings.
- No student is allowed to loiter around the campus during class hours. Silence must be strictly maintained during the class hours.
- No student is permitted to roam around the college premises during and after the class hours without prior permission from the lecturer or principal.
- No outsider is allowed inside the campus unless they are in college for any official purposes.
- Students are expected to strictly follow the basic dress code prescribed by the college. Violence of the dress code will be seriously dealt with.
- The Management is not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings.
- The students should have their college handbook at all times. Proper record of absence must be maintained without fail, Forging parents/guardians signature is considered a serious offence.
- Students are not allowed to enter the staffroom without the permission of the lecturer.
- Conversing in English is a must in the campus. Use of regional languages by the students in the classroom is not encouraged by the college unless required during language classes.
- Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs or any other abusive substance within the college premises is strictly prohibited. Students who violate this rule will have to face suspension or permanent dismissal from college.
- Outstation students should make their own arrangements for stay and should invariably furnish the details of the place of the residence to the principal.
- Students are barred from joining any club, society, association, political party or indulge in any activities that may interfere with their studies without the permission of the principal.
- Students who are involved in sports are not permitted to play for any team against the college.
- A minimum of 75% attendance is necessary at the end of every semester to be eligible for end semester examination.
- Regularity in attendance to classes and examinations, progress at studies and he conduct of the students will be taken into consideration while recommending students for merit certificates, concessions, scholarships and intercollegiate activities.
- Irregularity in attendance, insubordination, disrespect towards members of the staff, habitually coming late to class, neglect of work and obscenity in words or actions are punishable by temporary or permanent dismissal. Minor offences are punishable by fine or any other suitable punishment.
- Students are not permitted to take part in any political agitation directed against the government in authority. They are also forbidden to engage prominently in any public movement without permission from the principal. They are further required to observe all the disciplinary regulations which the management may frame from time to time.
- No organizing of protests in the college campus without following the necessary protocols. For any grievances a complaint must be first registered to the Grievance Cell of the college. Students are strictly barred from participating in any strike or protest against the college management without prior information to the principal in writing.
- Students are not authorized to collect donations from the public for any of the college activities without the permission of the principal.
- Those who are having two wheelers should possess valid driving license, helmet and insurance. To avoid pollution and disturbance, the vehicle should have efficient silencers and emission tests done on their vehicles. Students are allowed to park their two wheelers only in the place allotted to them.
- All assignments are to be submitted on time. No assignment will be accepted and valuated after the due date.
- Chewing gum inside the campus is strictly prohibited.
- Students are advised to maintain their classrooms neat and clean and create environmental awareness by keeping the campus clean, green and plastic free. Make use of the waste disposal bin. Students are advised to keep the tables and benches clean in the classroom and canteen area during the break.
- Please maintain discipline during any program conducted by the college. The students who do not maintain discipline during the formal programs through inappropriate behaviour such as constant talking,hooting, commentingetc.., inappropriately loitering, consumption of alcohol, use of Mobile phones in the campus, etc. will have to face severe consequences. The management doesn’t support / tolerate any kind of inappropriate behaviour.
*The rules mentioned above must be followed by the students without fail. Strict action will be taken by the Disciplinary committee against any student found violating these rules with punishment ranging from temporary dismissal or permanent suspension of the student depending on the severity of the action.
Rules regarding USE OF MOBILE PHONES in the campus.
Use of mobile phones is STRICTLY PROHIBITED INSIDE THE CAMPUS.
Any student found violating these rules; their phones will be confiscated immediately.
PHONES ONCE CONFISCATED SHALL NOT BE RETURNED.
DRESS CODE
Students are expected to keep in mind the basic norms of uniformity with regard to the dress code of the college.
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Dress Code /College uniform compulsory.
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: Decent colour dress of their respective choice.
- Decent and short haircut with a neat shave is a must for BOYS.
- Neat hairdo is a must for GIRLS.
Disciplinary action will be taken against students who violate the dress code. The dress code prescribed by the college is to maintain uniformity, discipline and an academic environment. It must be strictly adhered to by all the students on a daily basis within the college campus.
TO THE ATTENTION OF PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
Parents and guardians are requested to cooperate with the college authorities in enforcing discipline and regularity of study at home. In order that lessons may be fully understood, students should be devoted to studying.
Absence to class should be justified by a leave note from the student signed by the parent/guardian. A leave note for a long absence due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate. A medical certificate cannot condone a student’s absence. All tests and examinations conducted by the college are compulsory. In case of illness at the time of examination, it has to be justified by submitting a medical certificate. Re- examination cannot be claimed as a matter of right. In case of illness during examinations, parents are expected to inform the Principal immediately. In case re-exam is permitted the students are required to attend the same.
Progress reports of students will be issued after every test/ examination. Parents are requested to come over to the college office and check in case reports are not received within reasonable time. You are asked to meet the class in-charge lecturers and otherlecturers, if unsatisfactory progress or poor attendance is brought to your notice.
A minimum of 75% attendance is required for eligibility to take the end semester examination. They will not be re- admitted to the college.
We expect parents to participate in parent’s meeting and other activities of the college.
